Forbes iConference

Forbes iConference with BetterTradesBetterTrades will sometimes partner with another trusted source in a way that provides stock market information to more individuals, and offer additional people a chance to learn how to achieve their personal financial goals by learning to trade stocks and options. One of the most successful events in company history was their participation with trusted partner Forbes in the online iConference in 2008 and again in 2009. Thousands of interested individuals attended the virtual education conference and learned how they could use the information taught by BetterTrades to make smarter, better-informed decisions in the stock market.

Forbes, one of the world's business leaders, sponsored the iConference, entitled "Profiting in Volatile Markets," a venture that was designed to help investors and traders learn to navigate the market conditions, which were very turbulent at the time. The iConference featured a keynote address by Forbes chairman and CEO Steve Forbes and included the participation of many editors and gurus from the magazine and website.

BetterTrades founder and CEO Freddie Rick said at the time, "We are thrilled to be working with Forbes.com and a stellar lineup of investment professionals for this online conference. It's our company mission to show new and experienced traders to take control of their financial life by making better trades. We will be covering topics that are certain to be of interest in today's market environment."

The highlight of the show was the one-hour live presentation from BetterTrades coach Scott Schilling. The free presentation about stock and options trading was followed by a real-time chat with a team of knowledgeable customer care agents, who were trained to answer questions about the stock market.

To encourage people to register for the event, BetterTrades gave away $1,000 to a random winner, just for visiting the booth. Monique Alderman of Sunrise, Fla., was the winner and was so surprised to hear the news that she hung up the telephone in delight. Even those who didn't win the money were still given two special reports designed to further their education: "Turning an Investment into a Profit" and "Three Important Lessons Every Successful Trader Should Know." Registrants also received a free one-year subscription to the Monday Morning Outlook, a weekly newsletter valued at $499.

"We're grateful for all the people who registered for the contest and participated in the conference," said BetterTrades founder Freddie Rick after the winner was announced. "We're sure they found their visit to the conference beneficial and we look forward to helping all of them take their first step to financial independence."

Forbes held three virtual conferences last year and brought in more than 34,000 registrants. Nearly 97 percent of those who attended said they would come back for future virtual events.
